Dear Ms. /Mr. XYZ,
Part 1:
Computer literacy or digital literacy is defined as people’s capability to compute and use IT applications for progressive and sophisticated means of communication (Audrin et al., 2022). Digital literacy allows a person to develop new critical and higher-order tools and IT expertise to segregate and disseminate the latest information in digital media (Tinmaz et al., 2022). This has gradually led to the world going digital and every field demanding increased use of digital communication skills to some extent. For instance, digital literacy consists of producing and posting articles or blogs, responding to and forwarding emails, or searching for evidence at the workplace using the internet. At the professional level, digital literacy allows a person to operate within society within the framework of access to information and communication through mobile devices and internet environments.
It is very crucial to have digital skills to be competent at the workplace level because thousands of new articles and research are published and researched which is useful to enrich professional skills. Technology skills allow the worker to engage the diverse community and apply technology to advance professional competencies and knowledge (Estrela et al., 2023). For such production, a person must be capable of producing a document in various formats and be aware of social media interactions and teamwork processes. In careers, efficiency revolves around officers incorporating the spirit of the new as well as the flexible organizational culture (Yang et al., 2022). The concept of digital literacy can aid the worker to be successful in the new world where technological products are the main means of obtaining knowledge and interacting with the world.
Part 2:
Plagiarism is acknowledged as one of the most unethical practices and is associated with legal strategies (Zimba & Gasparyan, 2021). Internet invention has ushered in a flood of information as most of the information can be accessed over the Internet. Every day thousands of websites are enhancing digital content, but so many articles are copied. Cyber cheating can be defined as copying and pasting, or otherwise obtaining a source that one was not otherwise exposed to in a digital piece and presenting it as one’s work (Fadlalmola et al., 2022). In today’s world, there are several ways to plagiarize where there can be no similarity measurement. The risks involved with plagiarism from digital sources include violation of content authenticity and ethical policies, unethical and unprofessional charges, legal consequences of theft, and dishonesty in other digital platforms. However, plagiarism from digital sources also attracts penalties because it violates the ethical code of conduct (Kolhar & Alameen, 2021).
At the professional level, engaging in plagiarism activity can lead to very high costs and lifetime reputation loss for the employee (Morrow, 2021). Any person who has a desire to succeed in the workplace, and get a good job, must stay away from the ramifications of copying someone else’s work on the internet or must steer clear of cases involving copyrighting (Morrow, 2021). No organization desires to deal with an employee practicing unethically and dishonesty in their practices. In terms of future careers, plagiarism is a problem that can hurt employment opportunities, job stability, work prospects, business relations, possible earnings, and income. As a major trend in the hiring process, the recruitment committee more frequently performs their background check on the employees. Engaging in plagiarism activities hinders an individual’s ability to advance as they may lose their reputation (Abbasi et al., 2021). The practicing license can be sealed or there can be imprisonment in case of violation of copyright rights which means that that which has potential in a career in the future can be prevented.
Cordially,
