Part 1: Plan Your Time

In daily activities, one has to schedule time to improve productivity and order in the daily schedule. Wrong time management can cause stress to the individual or there will be a high rate of productivity loss in workplaces. Stakeholder management is challenging because it is often unclear which activity is the most important work, study, or personal responsibility (Aguinis & Bakker, 2021). Thus, the general use of a calendar for the division of time and daily activities is a very efficient method to promote work productivity and work ethic (Delisle, 2021). This assessment has a basic concentration on real-time calculation and time management using Google Calendar to promote proficient daily time management.

Estimate Realistic Task Completion Times

Six Tasks Split between the Areas

These six tasks are divided into three domains academic domain, work domain, and family/personal domain (Wolters et al., 2021). These tasks are assigned for every day of the week. Each task represents a definite schedule of the time required for its accomplishment. Some of the academic tasks are thesis meetings and some of them are family functions. On Saturday and Sunday, there is a form of weekend retreats that are compulsory to attend. Such meetings include other team meetings and weekly onboard meetings. A priority list of the tasks is given below:

  1. Weekend Retreat
  2. Exams study
  3. Team meetings
  4. Thesis proposal submission
  5. Family dinner
  6. Friend Meet up

Calendar to Organize Tasks

The Rationale to Determine Priority

The priority ranking reason is as follows: Each appointment made should correspond to the tasks based on their degree of priority (Wolters et al., 2021). The analysis of the task is that it is high priority, not necessarily urgent or conversely, the task is urgent as well as high priority. This particular activity by the company is compulsory and is among the most important (Aeon et al., 2021).

Exam study is very important in the priority list as it is important but not urgent like the weekend retreat. While team meetings are important they are not necessarily urgent that’s why they fall into the third category. The thesis proposal submission has a timeline hence there is room for the activity. But quality is a fourth-level priority. In addition, friends’ meet-ups can be easily missed, or there can be no repercussions for it. Other obligations of the person also can be neglected without any issues (Aeon et al., 2021).

The Rationale for Choosing a Time Organization Strategy

A time-organization strategy allows daily organization and completion of priority tasks without poor management. Eisenhower matrix is the best time organization strategy that assists people in determining their time management plan for handling tasks based on priority and sensitivity (Asana, 2021). The justification for the time organization strategy is to organize the tasks according to the priority by making a list of priorities and then adding the priority to it. The time organization strategy is really useful to increase productivity and decrease the stress you take while handling the massive pressure of catering to daily responsibilities including professional, academic, familial, and or personal commitments. In the Eisenhower matrix, all four boxes are useful for handling work according to the importance and urgency of work. It assists in making the right decisions regarding priority task management (Asana, 2021).

Work Event Impacted Approach

The organization of time is a universal necessity of the workplace. It is extremely hard to put aside any time for the official work event on the weekends. On Saturday and Sunday, the specific work event affected time management since it was important not to do any other activity. Scheduling urgent activities during the weekend affected other important activities such as family responsibilities. That’s why the schedule for the work in the study plan and the family gathering was changed to Sunday. If the meeting for work event management does not occur, then the submission of the thesis draft will be moved to Friday for the work event management. The work event and the submission of the thesis proposal are two crucial and sensitive tasks that cannot be subjected to poor planning and organization. Other important tasks were affected by work events and time organization strategy assisted in allocating the right level of timeliness for the events. Among the PDP elements, critical thinking was needed for tasks such as priority identification, time frame comprehension, and task completion obligation management. Critically, the impact of not prioritizing the tasks is discussed to prevent any adverse outcomes (Wolters et al., 2021).

Credibility and Relevance of a Chosen Resource

While accessing any information from it, while using the source, one has to assess the credibility and the relevance of the resources. In this case, relevance may be described as the actuality of the outcomes that can be useful in decision-making. Credibility concerns the extent to which the resources can effectively answer the research questions. Most of the sources found on Capella Library are reliable as most of them are properly cited and the video tutorials highlighted actual time management techniques. As for time management, different resources are used to study the Eisenhower matrix, time management strategies, and the efficient use of the digital calendar (Cnop, 2023). As a primary source of time schedules, Google Calendar is employed which is highly efficient and credible (Bogna, 2022). Most people especially working people use it to plan and organize the events or activities that take place around them. Google Calendar also had several features of adding links to meetings and scheduling appointments to improve durations (Bogna, 2022). Additionally, from reliable sites only, information on time management techniques is obtained. The web content is suitable and useful for finding out which task prioritization approaches were. In addition, the Capella Library was relied on to gain insight into the task prioritization strategies that were applied. Capella Library also offers factual data on how one can calculate the daily time to improve in the ways of dealing with numerous routines.

COM FPX 1150 Assessment 3 Conclusion

Altogether, management skills as competencies are vital to professionalism since they enable people to discharge their duties to the best of their capacities and within a reasonable amount of time. It also affects the mastery of time and tasks to increase productivity and makes it easier for one to make a decision (Wu et al., 2024). One of the primary competencies of this approach is proper time management, the way how to determine priorities, utilizing Eisenhower’s Matrix. This matrix helps in the prioritization of tasks as well as introducing an understanding of what needs to be accomplished, on time, or can be postponed.
